I have no first hand experience with PHD. But looking at the site - they all look like Cuenca hats to me. But I could easily be wrong. I currently have 7 Brent Black Montecristi hats. Brent, you are being overly generous in your description of my Panama knowledge. But, yes. The "Brisa" weave in my experience is the most common I've seen on what we would normally call a Montecristi. The "Cuenca" weave is probably most seen on Cuenca hats. Montecristi and Cuenca (kwayn-ka) are the two primary centers of panama hat production and export in Ecuador. Montecristi is on the coast, and Cuenca is in the Andes Mountains. 5 1/2" open, 4 1/4" front, 3 3/4" back I think it may be the way my wife holds the phone when taking the picture. She hold it kinda down with it tilted back a little. But I do tend to wear between 4 1/2” to 5” on the front. The Flagship is just slightly shorter.- Bill Hughes

This is the a Brent Black I won on eBay a while back. It was supposed to be a 7 1/8 but turned out to be a 6 7/8. I sent it to Mike to size and replace the ribbon. Help with Mac Lachlan hat please
It's a very nice hat that is most often called a Homburg. I can't tell from the pictures whether it's navy blue or black. Black is much more common. It's a larger size which is nice. I would think it's from the 50s but could be late 40s.- Bill Hughes
