8" x 6 5/8" I'm between 1/8 and 1/4 and I had to use felt shims all the way around to get a good fit. So halfway between a 7 1/4 and 3/8 is where I would call it.- Bill Hughes

I’ve bought hundreds of used hats. Never had an issue with insects. If I ever do see a problem I will use the freezer to rectify the issue. I don’t see a downside to freezing a hat.- Bill Hughes
