Seems like this thread could use another bump. I have always loved my Texas Hatters hats. I have a Cuenca straw bowler and a silver belly all beaver derby.

That looks great. The swoop on the brim up really makes it work. I can’t even get brims to snap up with a good swoop— they always flip way up and look silly. Nice, Brent!

Confession: I haven’t been wearing a lot of brimmed hats. It’s too darned cold and snowy and this winter has been relentless up here; certainly for a lot of us. But I did wear this beaver brand American Legend series hat a bit inside today. I reshaped and re-fit it a bit, and just the other day...
As for the facial hair— how do those of you with moustaches have the patience? I liked the look, but couldn’t eat, drink, or kiss without painful pulls on the upper lip! So off it went.

One of my favorite things about Jack is that in addition to the "usual" creases-- and the biggest sellers such as the cattleman-- he likes to get creative with his creases and ribbons. Particularly in the telescopic crowns, you will find shapes such as hearts, steer heads, spirals/swirls...
I wanted to post separately about a primarily western custom hatter I found in rural western SD last week.
Jack at Weather Hats does some really great work, and I love that he gets creative with ribbons and creases— totally legit, and he doesn’t jump to grumpily putting down other hatters’...
