This leather is the Black Oak Steerhide he used on random jacket collaborations but never came fully available on his site.
People might wonder why choose that when he is known for the Shinki horsehide, I asked if he had anything not advertised and he mentioned this combination tanned...
Took delivery of this Himel Kensington a couple weeks ago but with the stifling heat here in the Southern USA and my first newborn baby girl, I just haven’t found the time to take good fit pictures and give a review of my experience and the jacket which this forum and its knowledgeable members...
Persols are great glasses. Still made with traditional materials like natural acetate.
The conglomerate Luxottica bought then out years ago but they are one of the few brands that were bought that still remain somewhat in control of the manufacturing process. Where most under the Luxxottica...
I said the same thing. And I can attest for this leather.
I’m surprised when I see jackets like this not sold, the size seems to be more in the more average category and who can beat a brand new Himel 1/2 the cost of buying one direct.
I don’t have the experience with leather as many other...
I know nothing about A2 jackets either but one thing I noticed in all of the pictures is the guys that wear this style seem to like the shoulder seam hanging slightly over. It’s the one style I think that it is actually preferable and you can possibly loose mobility but that is probably...
Save yourself the agony and look at a website called Thurston Bros which carries Vanson and two other great brands which can be fitted and there are dozens of different jackets that can be customized by sleeve length, body length and taper, different Leather choices and liner choices with...
I can picture one of those really heavy 8lb horsehide jackets you have and imagine if there was a 5mm seam along the top of the shoulder or the shoulder/sleeve seam, the weight of the jacket would put so much pressure on the seam
That’s probably wasn’t worded correctly.
I was just thinking it would be cool for Aero to have a deluxe line to compete with the higher end market, like Himel Bros which included all of the skiing, thin cotton thread, high stitch count and all that good stuff.
I just figured there is a...
I’ve thought the same about Aero, I thought they would do great with a line of select jackets with accurate labels and possibly use their Best machinist’s to take their time to make the finest possible jackets to compete with the best.
Ofcourse they could charge a premium.
They are surely one...
I love those, the contrast stitching really pops.
If they were size 10 they would be gone. The only Chelsea boots I have are too dressy looking, from your side of the world, Bally Switzerland.
The only crowdfunding I will support would be an product made by people that actuality have skills or talent. For instance I would happily support a bootmaker or jacket maker that actually is a craftsman him or herself.
The world could use more of craftsmen instead of the countless companies...
I really like these in that color. I bet they would look great with leather laces the color of the midsole if you wanted to change up the look down the road.
$265 for a shirt is outrageously expensive.
I’m not mad at them but just generally curious about their lifestyle, call me frugal but I can’t see myself paying more for a shirt than what I make in let’s say “an hours wage”.
I’m guessing that’s why eBay and grailed are littered with these...
The 2040 looks great, I wouldn’t mind a 2040 in black with lug sole and all eyelets.
With all of the Viberg choices in style, leathers, soles etc. One could really make a collection of only Viberg, I am interested in a pair of Whites Semi Dress or 350 cruisers also. Boots can be as addictive...
Sounds like you have the opposite problem.
Before the lounge I never took much thought into a shirt hanging outside of a jacket, well before I also thought a normal length for a jacket was to cover my backside.
Interesting when you shorten your jacket it makes you look taller. Reminds me...
Just curious if anyone has given this a try. It never really came to my mind before joining the lounge but now I’ve learned by everyone’s great fitting jackets that a shirt sticking out from underneath can kill the look. I know i can tuck them in but sometimes you just want a T-shirt to hang...
