Yes; I'm a keen fedora wearer, but know little about westerns and military hats. I wouldn't have an issue doing a custom hat, but I'd have to find a hatter who does that kind of work. Major Mike is an obvious option.
I've been browsing the Library of Congress photo archives, and as a Cubmaster, this popped out at me. I love the different bashes in the campaign hats, and how they are obviously much softer than the current military and police campaign hats. I'm looking for both a traditional felt campaign...
I have a black one and love it. Now I have a brown one. Just tell me how to pay. Thanks!
(Was watching this one on ebay and never pulled the trigger - but at that price, and from a Lounger... yeah, I'm in.)
I think wing collar and long tie actually looks quite good with morning dress, even though the common fashion appeared to move to turn-down collars with morning dress sometime in the 1930s. While I'd probably wear a turn-down and a tie, wing collar and long tie certainly strikes me as far...
Hi - still looking. Prior transaction didn't work out as the seller decided he didn't want to ship.
At this point, I'm a week away from ordering a custom campaign hat, so if you have one you'd like to sell, please let me know!
Well singlechange was right - fits like a big 7 1/8 RO. I might be afraid to wear it in a strong gale, but otherwise it's a winner. And amazing quality. Just great.
Well, there's a fair chance it'll come up again. I'm a true 7 1/8 long oval, and this seems like a slightly small 7 1/8 regular oval. The 7 7/8 long axis seems like it's 1/4" short for me... so we'll see. I've never owned a fancy straw, and at this price, it was worth a gamble. Depending on...
Little big in the chest. Maybe sleeves will end up 1/2" too long? But all in all, I think it looks very good. It's not as trim as some WWII era flyers would wear theirs, but it certainly looks good for a modern fit. I think you've got a winner!
I think it fits fine- if unremarkably.
That said, the sloppy sleeves with zippers drive me nuts. The idea behind zipper sleeves is to make them tight enough to go under gauntlet gloves. The sleeve zips on my Vansons (and on my Alpinestars leathers) are all snug enough that I cannot wear a...
Picked up a women's Langlitz Cascade on eBay. I tossed in a bid for $200 thinking I would definitely get outbid, but ended up getting it at the opening bid. My wife doesn't ride with me often but now she'll be safe and stylish when she does. It's a 2004 jacket, presumably steer, and doesn't...
WTB: Boy Scout Campaign Hat (7 1/8) beaver/nutria felt or straw. No wool felt hats. In good wearer condition (I'm a scout master), with no moth nibbles, please.
Called them and alas they are all out of sage Whippets. They offered to send me a camel one, but that alas will not do.
So...still looking for a green fedora!
