A friend had a free room so decided to take them up on the invite and skip town to Vegas for some pro 'rasslin. He and I ended up in the background of a bunch of shots. We were the last row on the floor, so I was not being obnoxious by keeping my hat on, promise!
VS Dualist
Well, defeated yesterday, but defeated by myself. I totally spaced out on this BOP that I was kindly given the tip off on by @BobHufford. I pulled it up on my phone, all set to try and snipe with 10 mins to go (as I am wont to do).....and then got distracted by laundry and my FireTV thingie that...
Have yourself a look through the Miller Stockman thread. Shows up in a few ads.

I've been neglecting my fedora style hats recently, but pulled this one out of its box for some variety. This is my replacement Premier Stratoliner that was dispatched to me direct from the factory (thank you Mr. Deckard!). The hat I originally received from DelMonico was from a batch mistakenly...
Ahh yes, my favorite western! Facebook recently reminded me of this pic which is apparently 10 years old, I guess the giveaway is the cameraphone quality! Resistol stingy to keep this hat related ;)
Anyways, this is at the Lucasfilm screening theater on the Presidio Campus, they used to have...
Well, if you have an open crown hat that you like, measure how tall it is. 5 1/2" open crown is a pretty standard fedora height. 6" is more western territory. If you want to end up at 5" you might need a 5 3/4" block. For example, the typical Indiana Jones hat gets creased to 4 1/2" and starts...
Went to go see the new Fantastic Beasts movie tonight (prequel series to Harry Potter). Jude Law plays the titular wizard Albus Dumbledore. Different target demographic than the Lounge, but the film is set in 1932. I'm not an expert in period clothing, but there are some good hats in this movie...
.....well there aren't that many open crown hats to begin with, and those that are list those dimensions AFAIK. Are you planning on popping out the creases on a pre-creased hat? If so, you may not be satisfied with the results. It's hard to make those hydraulically pressed creases go away with...
Well, different strokes and all, but I personally don't consider Silverbelly a particularly "loud" color. As Brent notes, "Silverbelly" can be a slightly different shade depending on the manufacturer and/or time period. Optimo in Chicago is one of the few hatters that offers a true, natural...
Hey that does look like a match for mine! Nice get. Columbia was indeed my best guess as well. It appears as a "Staple Style" in the 1899 Exposition Pamphlet I linked earlier today.

Can't tell you why nutria is no longer used in hats. I would speculate that it has something to do with the relative decline in the fur trade as a whole. It doesn't seem to be a nutria conservation thing, as even here in California there are ongoing eradication efforts.
Earlier Stetson...
That's a really great hat. One of the remaining hats on my want list is the Capt. Kirk fedora, and this one has similar vibes.
Anyhow, the model name is interesting. For some reason the phonetic spelling is really amusing to me. Modern Stetson does retailer exclusive hats, which is what I...
