Hi Carlos, I looked over the labels again and again and there is no country of manufacture stated. If it helps, the model code is LC-952
and ID no 6875 whatever that means. I think it can be assumed it is a jacket for the Euro market as I first became aware of the model on the Euro/French Schott...
No idea but it was bought from a Spanish shop and the model number is LC 952. Also it is small for the tagged size, more M than L, more 40 than 42-Dunno if that indicates made for Euro market.
Leather jacket by Schott. Great quality leather and features angled pocket with chain puller and halfbelt with side adjusters in the 30s-50s style.

The jacket is incredible and looks unworn!
Okay here are some ideas for high waisted trousers:
A. Find actual vintage 30s 40s or 50s trousers on Ebay
B. Simon James Catchart makes really nice reproductions, pricey but great cuts and materials
C. Get something made custom, Luxire are an...
I am enjoying the mix of brown and black there. Do your trouser's seams line up? I once had a pair of WPG trousers where the side seams were out of alignment so they were annoying to press. Hoping it was a one off.
I love that because it describes in a whimsical fashion what I actually love about vintage clothing. Now in so many cases it's 'here's a some black polyester to wear to an interview'
Thanks. Ha! I know you added my emoji but I should clarify: Not the most glamorous post as far as the civilian fashion intepretation of military clothing goes, but I am jealous of anyone with a flying licence, whether it is an F-35 or a Cessna pilot. And I should be so lucky to fly in a P-3.
Cool, thank you so much for your expertise Thor.
This was a real bargain and not wanting to spoil this with an expensive restoration I think these cuffs will do:

Good brand, not to USN...
Greetings guys, I haven't been around these parts for some time, but picked up this G-1 and knew this would be the best place to ask:
Is this an original USN issued? My gut tells me yes. But the zipper is a design I have not seen on G-1s in my online research.
The faded stencil on...
I like the angled pocket on your jackets, Claudio. Today sort of a bespoke feature but some of my vintage British jackets from the 1940s-50s have it, it was probably more common back then. Details matter!
Claudio, I'm impressed by how you manage to make such a bold outfit look harmonious, I wonder if apart from your good taste it is to do with complexion-Though I am part Mediterranean myself, I think I being lighter skinned would have a hard time pulling it off.
Mine do have a linen interlining-Actually I suspect the interlining itself shrinks out of sync with the main fabric. Also thankfully it seems the oxford cloths do not have this problem-i suspect because they have some shrinkage compatibility with the interlining.
I suppose you get what you pay...
Lovely jackets, Mike. I am happy to see that good content is still being posted here, I hadn't paid much attention to the FL lately. I will make sure to check in once in a while! Alexandre apparently specialized in making garments for overseas US troops postwar which is why vintage examples are...
It's a delicate balance. There are elements of vintage suits that are at odds with modern fashion and not to everyone's taste and others that are classic.
Very wide trouser legs, very wide peak lapels, very heavy shoulders are all a no-no for an entry level interview, because your objective...
Yes the smallness of the notch allows the lapel to look heavier and furthermore it has close to a 90 degree angle which together have a sort of 'opening up' of wings, or cathedral doors or something effect which is quite grand. Comparatively modern lapels have an acute angle notch which is more...
Interesting, Jimmy appears to be wearing a casual pair of trousers with a chunky 'jeans' style side seam. The turn ups are also simply rolled up rather than tailored.
I was hoping you guys could give me your thoughts on an issue I have been experiencing
Shirt collars puckering along the seam once I wash the shirt, the type of wrinkle that won't come out because there is a 'bubble' of fabric that simply get's pushed further along when you iron.
