Finally got a tiny bit of sunshine here with a comfortable breeze . Sitting out on the patio in an old Towncraft, with a Celis Belgan White Wheatbeer (with a splash of Mango Nectar) . Topped off with a pipeful of Suttlf Vanilla Custard tobacco... Nice afternoon
Kind of foggy and soggy this morning. Maybe rain later..... Feels like Green Akubra time! Trying to decide between the trim East Coast or the wider Sidewinder
Stayed up way too late watching the election results last night/ this morning. Heading out this bright, sunny morning in an Open Road for LOTS of coffee!!
Woo hoo! I found another Stetson Silver piece. This one a flower vase. It was advertised as silver and brass.... guess someone didnt know that you have to clean and polish silver plate. Did a quick cle3an and now its all silver again... gotta find where I put my jar of silver creme
I like a lot of the MacBaren blends out of Denmark.. Have been trying to get some relatives in Belgum so send me a sampling of things they can get there that arent imported here
Think last count ive got 17 Petersons ( mostly older silvers) and a couple Savenellis and a couple corncobs. ( plus a couple cute little Rolex travel pipes) Ive got a way smaller tobacco stash than yours.... ( couple tote bins full of 16 oz mason jars). Ive got enough that I can do a 7 day...
Nice Pipe! Love my bigger rounder bowls. Just spent an hour out back with an Peterson 302 loaded with Cult Blood Red Moon (nice Cherry). Still waiting for things to cool off a bit more before I can dive into some spices
I went back to the old school safety razors years ago and have never regretted it. just snug it up and lube the skin. I dont miss the $10 per blade refills one bit. Add to that I actually have one of my grandfathers straight razors that I stop up and use on neck-lines. Guess Im going backwards...
I do leatherwork among other things, and Ive had a big bag of lizard skins for ages that I never had a use for ( generally pretty small) till I discovered they work well on sweatbands ( nice and thin)
Id say Treat the sweatband with a good preservative like Pecards and roll with it a while, If it bothers you later, go for it and replace the sweat. Ive got more than a few older hats with once dry rotted and ripped leather sweatbands. To Me, they wear just fine, and I opted to patch the rips...
And now for something totally different!
Interesting day here in soggy east Texas... Our 75 yr old sewage system decided that a day with thunderstorms and heavy rain was a good day to back up. Managed to keep the house dry but I got dosed with some pretty serious sewer gas in the house. After...
If you currently have hair and DO go shaved.... you MAY need some spacers... start with something in the back of the sweat. If you use a good leather preservative like Pecards on the sweatband, it wont slide around too much
