I think it fits like it should. It is a racing shirt.

    Vanson! Vanson! Vanson!

I had Vanson Ike in this hide, also with RiRi zippers which were standard for Vanson Europe and Japan horsehide line. This leather is thick and stiff as hell. They cost $1200 new. I know because mine had the old price tag. Got it from @Mrfrown ! It was a little tight so I moved it on, but...

5 Star Californian/Campus Halfbelt red russet goat!

... also, their stock copies of military leather jackets are pretty decent. So if that fits the bill, it should be a relatively low risk exercise if they modify one for you. Otherwise, as Aloysius said, they do 1:1 copies of existing jackets quite well. We have two cases on TFL where the results...

    The Deck Jacket thread.

The smaller one fits so much better. Like from the old Navy photos!

I love their timeless simplicity and utilitarianism. Looking forward to the Mil-Tec. It is quite different from Silverman's, which has a detachable faux-fur collar and is made of tan/yellow heavy and rough canvas. This is no duplication, I keep telling myself!

Vintage Vanson Model B, would you consider this "cracking"?

No cracking, that's grain, all is good, enjoy as Treeman said.

Wow. That looks great. Are we witnessing the birth of another TFL jacket maker? AerGuitar brand!!!

Why is horsehide better than steerhide?

Aero used to offer roo hides. That was the one to get.

    The Deck Jacket thread.

I am enjoying my Silverman's N-1 for town and country excursions, including some wild mushrooms foraging, but already thinking about the Mil-Tec. @CatsCan , where did you get your Mil-Tec jackets?

    Impregnole any info?

To be sure, 1943 is the copyright date for the name Impregnole, not jacket mfg date. Your jacket is probably from between 1946, when Sun Chemical bought the Impregnole business, and 1961, when they sold it. Regarding chemical composition of the coating, I would not worry, it is some liquid wax...

FS: Aero Highwayman (Connelly Steerhide, Black) sz. 46

Whoah. Someone should jump on this with both feet. A fairly priced, super rare, grainy Aero HWM in Connelly hide. Rose smell comes gratis. With recent price increases for vastly inferior hides, this is a N O B R A I N E R.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I think I was wearing the Spiegel. Thought it would be a good fit for the Ramones movie screening! I have the Spiegel, the Cal and Kit Karson here in Europe, so I will be cycling through them. Cal again! Good weather for it. Not too cold yet.

Mine above is red label too. Those striations on yours do resemble the marks on horsehide Lost Worlds jackets. They might well be a mark of hh.

I got both the buckle and the brass keeper from Smoky Sumi store in Japan. Belt hide is British Bridle, the best hide for a belt by a country mile.
