I had Vanson Ike in this hide, also with RiRi zippers which were standard for Vanson Europe and Japan horsehide line.
This leather is thick and stiff as hell.
They cost $1200 new. I know because mine had the old price tag. Got it from @Mrfrown ! It was a little tight so I moved it on, but...
... also, their stock copies of military leather jackets are pretty decent. So if that fits the bill, it should be a relatively low risk exercise if they modify one for you. Otherwise, as Aloysius said, they do 1:1 copies of existing jackets quite well. We have two cases on TFL where the results...
I love their timeless simplicity and utilitarianism. Looking forward to the Mil-Tec. It is quite different from Silverman's, which has a detachable faux-fur collar and is made of tan/yellow heavy and rough canvas. This is no duplication, I keep telling myself!
I am enjoying my Silverman's N-1 for town and country excursions, including some wild mushrooms foraging, but already thinking about the Mil-Tec. @CatsCan , where did you get your Mil-Tec jackets?
To be sure, 1943 is the copyright date for the name Impregnole, not jacket mfg date. Your jacket is probably from between 1946, when Sun Chemical bought the Impregnole business, and 1961, when they sold it.
Regarding chemical composition of the coating, I would not worry, it is some liquid wax...
Whoah. Someone should jump on this with both feet. A fairly priced, super rare, grainy Aero HWM in Connelly hide. Rose smell comes gratis. With recent price increases for vastly inferior hides, this is a N O B R A I N E R.

I have the Spiegel, the Cal and Kit Karson here in Europe, so I will be cycling through them. Cal again! Good weather for it. Not too cold yet.
