Fine Creek Leathers Tyler
Approximately two years ago, I reached a state of mind rarely found in this community: leather jacket contentment. Yes, I know: blasphemy! I liked my assortment of jackets and I did not feel the need to purchase any more. Nevertheless, in the recesses of my (tiny)...
After resisting the urge for a couple of years, I finally succumbed. I took a risk with an OTR jacket that I had not tried on. The risk paid off. The jacket fits like it was custom made for me. More to follow . . .
All valid points @Carlos840 . . . if you intend to use your jacket on a motorcycle and functionality on a motorcycle is a relevant consideration. On the other hand, if one has no intention of using their jacket on a motorcycle, the foregoing analysis is not material and aesthetic personal...
The operative words in the above statement are "to me." Jacket length is fundamentally and inherently a subjective issue and there is no objectively correct or incorrect length. It is personal preference. I respect your preference and I know you respect mine.
As has been discussed here ad...
Completely agree. There is no "best" brand or country of origin, the Japanese brands are not inherently better, there are plenty of mediocre and downright poorly made Japanese jackets, there are several stellar jacket manufacturers located outside of Japan, no brand has cornered the market on...
I agree. I have tried on several FCL jackets and the patterns did not work. I just ordered another (without trying it on). It may be in the Classified section next week if it doesn't fit.
The Flat Head jackets never fit me. The shoulders were far too broad in relationship to the chest. I...
@BloodEagle -- thanks for the photo -- that is beautiful stitching on your FCL jacket. I also love the French seams. This is why I want a FCL jacket.
Stitch density has been debated on TFL many times in the past. Stitch density can be desirable both for structural integrity and aesthetics...
@dudewuttheheck : You plainly have an agenda here . . . feel free to ignore the reviewer's express statement: "Construction is extremely fine and clean. . . . In fact, this jacket is among the finest stitching density I've encountered on a leather jacket to date, including every jacket I've...
Here is a good review of the FCL Roberts -- not my favorite model, but a very comprehensive review:

"Construction is extremely fine and clean. I've seen high quality Japanese jacket stitch-work described as...
Respectfully disagree. IMHO, the finish and build quality of FCL jackets are palpably better than Aero, Lewis, and SB. Better stitching and seams. Is it "worth" the premium. Thats a subjective determination that everyone must make for themselves.
FCL does indeed promote a unique fit that...
Interesting discourse.
In my experience, FW leather jacket patterns are terrible . . . at least for me. The chest is too narrow, the shoulders too broad, and the sleeves too short. Hence the reason why I do not own any FW leather. FW non-leather jackets are a different story -- much better...
