These were all after a couple weeks wear, and I’m wearing this one as much as possible, you can see the difference already, my other jacket has a softer hand and has changed much but variety is great, that’s why the next one will be in Badalassi.
You ask and you shall receive, Marc gave me so much help with fit advice he should be charging me, Regius as well helped tremendously, he has a keen eye for movement and mobility when it comes to jackets and helped me with a little nip and tuck from the mock up Jacket.
know I should have posted...
You guys have so many amazing boots. I’m jealous for sure.
I haven’t made a post in while, so I thought I would show you the difference between about a years wear, probably 2-3 times a week rotating between these Rocaro Shell Cordovan service boots, my Whites MP CXL and my Viberg 2030’s...
I wonder if he owns the jacket, probably not because it’s an advertisement and they would supply wardrobe but the way it fits, if I were him that jacket would have been part of the deal, I always see those photos of him in an old Brooks or Reed? so I guess he likes vintage jackets.
I had a...
I’m really curious who ordered this one, I thought it was a TFL member because he was asking many questions about the Beck 666. This jacket was a bit of an obsession for me, just when I thought I was through with Cafe Racers and have opened up to more complex designs, this was posted and in my...
Thank you, I had the idea after seeing those Old German Jackets with the lining in incredible shape, after reading it was made for durability as a working man’s fabric I was hooked being the special imported Japanese made Camo in my Kensington is already fraying at the inner pocket which I’ve...
I.7mm wow, that has to be one of your thicker hides.
I love those pleats or ribs on the back panel, correct my terminology if they have a specific term.
Reg will be the first maker that I’m going to let him make all decisions, just sit back and let him decide linings, thread, fit, etc. once you...
This one looks really similar to my untrained eye to a random Shinki teacore jacket slightly used.
I really wish I knew the exact appeal of that Shinki teacore. Is it the way the pigment comes off, maybe fade vs flaking?
Can’t be the grain because it’s going to vary from hide to hide.
I have...
, everyone is shaped differently but I will say that a lot of it has to do with how high the arm holes are, let’s say you have one jacket with 24.5” P2P and the pattern of the shoulders has a sloping angle and a large arm hole, then that P2P line will be different than a jacket with...
Beautiful work just great. I love his work from the pictures
One thing I love on his civilian jackets are his linings. I love how he changes them and he inspired me to do a viscose sleeve and a heavier material for the main body. I know others do this but I still have pictures saved which...
Badalassi Nappa and Nappa Lux. Great feeling steerhide, definitely thicker than the Steerhide on my current jacket, but the grain pattern looks similar which I like.
Not sure if the heavier weight is a good thing or not but I’ll post a picture showing how much later.
Definitely going Lux on one
I have a watch strap on its way in a leather which looks similar
https://japan-leather-journal.com/en/brands/himeji-kurozan/
This leather comes from Wagu Beef and then put through a process of lacquer like the old armor the samurai used. I found this interesting. I'll post the strap somewhere...
His videos show him on the road again. Maybe he should spend a little more time in the shop to see what they stitching.
I had a 2nd look at those Beck 333 throat latches, honestly like really???? Really????
Those were loose and separated pieces, you could have just threw those away before...
First jacket mock up should be here within a week or so.
She said she will include some leather samples in little black Badallassi. I'll go with the Black pigment on the first one because I want to own atleast one jacket in that leather but the 2nd collared sports jacket will might just be...
Just as perfect as the J100. I really think anyone in the market for one of these and couldn't find a vintage version. They could have Fields leather take off a pocket on the newer versions he has posted to Instagram and you have a similar one.
To be extra detailed you could still find...
@MrProper, as I handler of both Greg's Shinki and Badalassi, do you think that Badalassi would be good fit for a 1940's Sport Jacket?
I ask you because you love the stuff and I'm not biased on any leather
I've mentioned it dozen or so times but I have 2 Fields Jackets in The works, 1 Racer...
