Wear unfinished leather with anything that will bleed on to it when wet. I was caught in a cloud burst while carrying a laptop bag. The strap was soaked and bled blue-black on to the chest my jacket. It's faded a bit with wear but was very upset when it happened initially.
@Edward is right. One of the great things about the Irvin, especially if you get the right weight of fleece, is that it's incredibly flexible. I've gone out with a heavy jumper under it (one of Aero's full-fat roll-neck winter warmers) and it's a simple case of altering the zips and belt to suit...

I kept the sleeves at the same length, they shortened a bit over time, but they've never caused me any problems. Irvins...
I tend to keep my seriously heavy ones on the Aero hangers or packed away. Lighter ones seem to be fine with a more standard hanger - I think the bigger you are, the worse the creasing can be. Mind you, I'm currently sitting in the office and my A2 is draped over a file box.
I wouldn’t worry about an Irvin being a bit bigger than you’re used to. They tend to look better and feel warmer - check out the pics. I’ve tried on ones that fit and weirdly they can feel a feel a bit restrictive compared to looser ones
Yes, I watched some people at the sale being gently guided towards more flattering sizes/styles. It only makes sense: if you buy something that when you pull it from the wardrobe looks like it belongs to somebody else, you’re unlikely to frequent them again.
In short: yes, I’m probably good for the foreseeable future (I have one Good Wear on order, but y’know that’s down the line... sometime). But some are packed up during spring/summer - the Irvin, D1, LHB - while the Dustbowl, A2, Wayfarer and BR get the run of house. I do need to have a clear out...
