I see your reference in a thread. Kip and Jenny at hatters supply house in Evans colorado have an option and they have great service. https://hatterssupplyhouse.com/conformer-lite/
beautiful work! I'm looking for a conformer as I think it would be better than a tape measures outcome. I see someone mentioned the plastic 200something dollar one, which is economical and fits well for my hat making volume. what is your website for me to find your wood one and what's the cost...
Maybe have stamp made where you can use fabric paint? That was my first go just bought a generic “W”, then moved onto embroidery. Cost me $3 per embroider in each liner. abroad in Dominican Republic — my parents friend made them. Not sure on USA cost. Then I cut and sew the liners on my own. As...
I bought a JUKI LS-321 under the impression it would work to sew a leather sweatband. Maybe I just don’t have the right foot? Can anyone help? Maybe an overlock foot, just not familiar with the name so having a tough time finding one
Smart. I bought this on Etsy’ Nick-o-sew shop, then he shut down the sight. I tried canceling my $900-$1,000 order. It he refused cause they’d assembled it already and what not. Still, I think I can have good use, I just need a few pointers.
Block spending has been reasonable. Bought from Mark...
I just bought a JUKI sewing machine to attach the leather sweat band. I can’t get a good angle. Any suggestions? Perhaps I need another foot to press on the sweatband side while the sewing foot takes on the crown. Help! Thanks.
My leather sweat bands have been buckling. I believe the rabbit felt is shrinking. Any suggestions? Should I Leah it to cure/dry on a flat round block(sizer)? I resteam hats after the initial block, so that I can give the form I want.
I found out today, when checking on the status of an order. Only interacted with Mark by email, but it appeared to me he was a great person. Very sad news. I’m glad I was able to come across Mark in my recent hat-making. He gave me really good direction in supplying as he was the very first I...
Hi, I'll be in Italy this summer. Does anyone know where I can purchase some hat making supplies in Milan? I'll take insight for Florence as well. Thanks. I'm an apprentice to hat making / millinery. Any and all info would be appreciated.
Can anyone provide info on what the horizontal hooks are called? I see hats hanging/suspended horizontally on instagram, but for the life of me cannot find those hooks. Appreciate your help.
Maybe they're not horizontal. You tell me if you're familiar. Thanks.
Wouldn't the Jiffy do the same thing? I'm looking for the right iron as well. Gathering as much info as I can while I start to purchase all I need to start making hats.
