I love Prada Amber Pour Homme. I used to have the women's version and liked it a whole lot too, but when it was used up I decided to get the men's version instead. I usually wear either that or something homemade.
I keep hearing "You look so 50s!"
Either I'm doing it wrong, or everyone else is confused, because I could have sworn I was going for a 40's look.
I also get asked why I'm so dressed up. I don't have a good answer other than "Why not?"
I do something similar - I roll mine around a small-barrel curling iron (on if it's already on, off otherwise) or around a marker, and then slide them off and un-wind a bit.
I also use a sharpie to make pin curls so that they turn out uniform.
I smile in pictures (I love my teeth a little too much) and always regret it. One of my eyes gets a lot squintier than the other, and I end up looking completely lopsided. Maybe I should start cultivating the "mysterious" look.
I know what all my co-workers make (because I'm the one who enters their salaries in our payroll system), and it makes me pretty uncomfortable. I find it very rude when my friends discuss their salaries. I also don't like it when they discuss religion, because that always involves bashing on...
I'm with you. Most of my vintage household goods have come from Goodwill and various flea markets. I still don't have a vintage couch, but at this point I may just re-upholster the one I have now. I don't think I'd be able to find anything like a vintage fold-out loveseat, which is really what I...
Well stink! I went against the advice I got here and just mended the girlde that broke after an hour of wear. I wore it for a full day, and then when I was putting it on this morning I noticed that the boning by the zipper was popping out. One thing breaking I can call a fluke, but two things...
Not really - I understand a lot more than I speak, but I sadly did not keep it up when we moved back to the US. It didn't help that I learned Schwaebisch instead of Hoch Deutsch, so when I tried to take a class in high school I was laughed at for "talking funny".
I do remember Kehrwoche. My...
I second the recommendation! I lived in Reutlingen growing up and found Tuebingen especially to be very picturesque - well worth a visit if you're anywhere in the neighborhood. My only memories of Stuttgart are of it being a big dirty city - I'm sure my opinion would be different because I live...
:offtopic: I got a similar one the other day.
Me: (regarding a pair of vintage glasses) Is there a size such as 46/20 marked on the frames? Would it be possible for you to measure the distance from hinge to hinge? Do you think these would be suitable for new prescription lenses and daily...
Have you tried MAC MoistureBlend? It is far from flaky - very creamy and moist. You should also try the NW20 rather than the NC. The "W" colors are pinker. I sometimes blend a W and a C to even out my skin tone.
Female, 26, Arlington VA (3 blocks from Washington DC), married according to my family and church, but single according to the US government and the state of Virginia. No, I'm not bitter at all.
I love my LPs! I have a good-sized collection of 60s and 70s rock. It started when I inherited (by that I mean "found in the attic) all my mom's Beatles records. After that I started buying them at flea markets and online. Throughout high school I used a record player that my father bought when...
Well this is a bummer - I got my Rago 1294 from GirdleBound yesterday (yellow!) and wore it for maybe an hour just to see how it fit. When I took it off a good two inches of stiching had come undone. I don't want to return it (not sure if I could since I did wear it briefly) and still be out the...
My wife made that blouse in a funky orange and red coral pattern. I love it! It was very easy, and she has promised to make more. She also made the skirt, but it turned out way too big and is currently being held together by staples (apparently she didn't realize it was too big until she was...
Yay 7 Sisters!
It looked like mostly John M Greene hall (the one with the dark columns) and Emmerson House (in the quad). I think there was a brief shot of the front steps of Neilson, but I'm not 100% sure.
