While catching up on today's great hats, I never thought I would see such a beauty. That color and ribbon are to die for. And the lines are just classic. You sir, are a god.

I'm a mere peasant but, yes God smiled on me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I just have to get it cleaned up and place it on the highest place I know, my head :)

Dang, Max! Now here's a great first post, sir.
What date is printed inside the liner? Since 1823, or 1817? I couldn't make it out from the photos.

Edit... 1817 (I copied, enlarged the shot) which tells us it was from after the mid-1940s Stetson acquisition, and you're probably close on your age guess, is my guess. CONGRATS, man!!

Thank you sir. Yes, the date is 1817, I'm really more interested in the 30's 40's hats but this one was too beautiful to let it go.

Great lid and welcome to the Lounge, Max! We look forward to seeing your collection grow.

Yes, as Charlie says, post-Stetson acquisition. Likely mid to late 50s for those markings and that price point. Mallorys are excellent hats and you snagged yourself a keeper.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
