Reminds me of the time, last year, when I was wearing my BoB in my local town. Walked past an older guy wearing an Aviation Leathercraft and he gave me the once over and I could see he thought “Stupid jacket, has no pockets” and I thought “Pffft, stupid jacket. It has pockets”

Wow, what an interesting thread!

I hate to say that I don't hate this jacket. It's not beautifully made, but it's not pink. It at least hews to its great granddaddy.

And if you are going to emulate/steal from a design avenue, you could find a worse one than WWII aviation. It's something of an unintentional homage. As though the designer knows that the design is inherently cool, even though he couldn't tell the difference between the mosquito that bites him on the rump and the Mosquito that shoots him in it. But then again I still like Rolexes; not because self indulgent toolbags wear them, but because pilots, divers, and submariners used to.

Aside from that,

1. I still miss my Frankie Goes to Hollywood parachute pants.

2. Chainmail on the gas tank: makes it go faster AND protects you from Viking attack. Awesome!

IMHO there is nothing wrong with wearing faux leather and a lot of it looks pretty good initially. The three reasons to prefer real leather are:

1) It lasts much longer
2) It often looks *better* as it ages
3) It breathes better

So ultimately it is *your* decision how to spend your $$$ and if you want to spend a lot less on faux, then so be it.

I know that discussion of faux leather jackets is blasphemy around here, but I thought it was interesting that Zara has produced what looks to be a very close copy of the B6 in their latest collection. I know it's not 100% accurate, but I've never seen a high street company produce a jacket that is so obviously based on the B6.

It comes in a seal brown or a lighter "redskin' esque colour. £89.99.

Before you slate me, I do have an actual B6 on order from Aero as we speak - but part of me is tempted to pick one of these up to use as a beater. Zara stuff in an XXL usually fits me perfectly as it's long and quite slim cut...

Yeah It's alright but it's like people here are saying I totally agree the Jacket in question is designed for Elongated skeletons and Guys with Translucent skin stretched over an alien frame.

^First, +1 but you forgot the miserable, almost soulless expression. Second, as stated earlier, shearling or it faux variants are going to be all over the catwalks in the next few Winter seasons. Que Prada buying the last remaining English sheepskin tannery here in Devon. Then consecutively running up the price of its output while running the actual business into the ground. (See Grenson shoes for an example)
