Sorry forgot this one - possibly my favorite gown of hers, from The Philadelphia Story. (Every time it's on tv, my Dad says 'now that's a dress'. He's a big KH fan!

This is one of my favorite outfits!

This amazing costume created in 1931 by Adrian for Greta Garbo as the notorious WWI era spy Mata Hari. "Glittering, embellished, backless, legginged, split skirted fantasy..." Wow!

Yes, both were chic and elegant! Thank you Miss sofia! :)

And both those dresses were designed by Gilbert Adrian :) He also did the gowns for The Women, including those amazing ones in the fashion show sequence. It's not hard to see why he was so popular!

C-dot - I love that suit too - it's stunning. There are photos of her wearing it celebrating her last 36th birthday on studio lot (Marilyn didn't have a big wardrobe and tended to borrow clothes/jewellery from the studio) - here's a better look at the suit from the unfinished movie:

And her wearing it (borrowed again!) at the Dodger's Stadium:

Thanks for letting me know Paul - I have done a thorough clean this time!!!!!!!!

I love seeing the outfits that float peoples boats - the decades, the style, the fabrics people prefer. I know Marilyn et al has a lot more cash than probably all of us here but that's the joy of vintage - you can copy/imitate your favourite star with some imagination - and perhaps by being prepared to do some serious searching!

That's so true I could not think of a better way to put it.

Well said Miss G!

I love all Audreys' outfits from Funny face too. In fact i would be hard pushed to find many outfits she wore that i wouldn't trample over someone to get my mitts on!

Ditto Marilyns' suit and indeed most of her outfits as well, now you mention it!

I love that outfit too Any Jeanne. I'm drooling at the skirt. That would be a holy grail everyday skirt for me!
