Blue "blazer" (really a suit jacket) with striped white flannels and white shoes ... and a very early fedora.

Rolled cuffs, as in J. Alfred Prufrock ("Shall I wear my trousers rolled?")

Yes, it's Rudolf Leitner, my Austrian great-grandfather, gallivanting in Paris around 1900.

Show us photos of your ancestors in sporty duds. Hunting, fishing, camping, playing tennis or golf, riding, driving, biking, sailing, rowing ... or just looking sporty for no particular reason (like my great-grandpa, below).

I'll have to get a few of my great grandfather posted.
This weekend I wsas rummaging thru my folks photo albums
(shhh, it's a surprise...) and found some great portraits
of him and my grandfather.
Next trip down I'll grab shots of them.

Not an ancestor, but . . .

Wasn't there a post, or maybe just a story on the web, about George Mallory's clothes on Everest when he died? He was VERY tweedy, and they looked ridiculously inadequate for 29,000 feet, compared to modern mountain gear. But people tried similar clothes on and found them remarkably suitable (no pun intended) and comfortable for the purpose.
