Really, really like the block on that straw. Who did it? And, is there some commonly accepted name for that crown style?

Me with my daughter, heading out Friday evening to our High School's production of 'West Side Story.'
I am wearing my Penneys Marathon, it is becoming my favorite fedora for the time leading up to spring.

Weekend, weekday, still wearing Art's art. With a closet full of hats I only changed into an old beater when it was too nasty out for this new beauty.

Feraud's straw hat

What a beautiful, fine, straw on that hat!!!!! Can you tell us what it is made of? Is it a "buntal" straw? So far I have seen paribuntal and balibuntal. Exquisite!

Thank you for the compliments on the Open Road and the straw. I am thrilled to see your weekend hats.

My new straw was purchased from our own Panamabob from his Panama Hatworks of Montecristi. The bash looks to be the classic "C" crown shape. Bob is a great guy to deal with and his website is definitely worth a look.
The brim is 2 1/4". The crown is 3 1/2" front/back and 4" on the sides.
This is going to be my exclusive warm weather hat worn with my usual Summer garb of Guayabera shirt and huaraches.

My hat this weekend was a Dobbs Fifteen, gray with gray hatband.

Sightseeing..oh no! I was trying to get home from our St. Patrick's Day celebration at 4 a.m.! :eusa_doh:
MrBern and I had just finished breakfast on 2nd Ave when we were walking to catch a cab. Bern noticed the automat on St.Marks and we stopped in for a look. Don't even ask me what I am eating in that picture because I do not remember! lol The atmosphere was very Blade Runner.
Senator Jack was with us earlier in the evening.
Here are the cool cats.

There are C crowns and then there are C crowns, apparently. That one is particularly nice, to my eye, anyway. Can't say that for all of them. Thanks for letting me know the who and what of it. At the very least, I'll have something to refer back to. (I happen to have an old one that's quite similar if not quite exactly the same. It's my favorite warm weather lid. Got worn regularly last summer. Wouldn't mind having another, etc.)
