:eek:fftopic: You're kidding! Where? In Providencia? Las Condes? The barrio alto?

Not to mention that it's a great-looking place. Very nautically Neruda-esque.

.

We had an apartment on Maria Luisa Santander in Providencia :) so Barrio Bellavista was a 15 minute walk over the bridge. We used to hang around that corner with Azul Profundo a lot as we ate there several times a week (such good food) and used to have a few tipples over at Liebowski bar.

Did you live there as well Marc? I love Santiago, great place.

Last :eek:fftopic: for me too...

We might have to start a Santiago thread to have a bit of a reminisce about the place...

What, no CYNAR? It's only the best-selling artichoke liqueur in the world!

Well, OK then. Excuse the messy fridge.

I must admit, I'm green with envy - haven't tried la fey verte yet.

Here's the bar cart:

I disclaim any of the cheap (or even expensive) champaign, tho' - it's not my thing.

My old landlord gave me the key to a mysterious cabinet in a dark and dank room in the basement, and said I could have the contents. Lo and behold about 50 bottles of misc alcohol that hadn't seen the light of day in at least 40 years. There was an unopened bottle of Bacardi Rum, made in CUBA. (Still unopened.) Several bottles of Hennessy, misc odd Israeli wines and bizarre liqueurs. There was a bottle of Old Forrester, and a bottle of Martin's blended scotch. Nothing to write home about, but tolerable. There was a bottle of rum manufactured in Brooklyn, that was an evil inky color. I managed to hold onto most of it.
My favorite Scotch would have to be Macallan 24 year old. I nearly killed myself many decades go on an infamous New Year's Eve, consuming most of a bottle of Champagne, and about half a bottle of Laphroaig. Now that was the mother of ll hangovers.

Since we're covering the waterfront here, ladies, did you know that gin is good for period cramps? True. It's the juniper berries.

But I don't imagine being drunk for a week each month would go over well..........
 lol

Another Macallan drinker here (it's expensive in my area so it's an occasional indulgence), and my mixer of choice is SoHo and seven nummy stuff.:)

My faves

Put me down for a double Wild Turkey vintage and then when I wake up give me a nice Cuervo Anejo en la botella triangular. Did I mention the Mojito as the breakfast juice????/

I think my favorites out of this group for now are the Hennessy XO, Glenrothes and Isle of Jura, although the Apple brandy is also quite good.

and just for a change of pace, our fridge:
