Also I would give all my clothes away just to have this dress on Rita from You were never Lovelier. I bet that dress just lit up the room!

OMG that is one of my favorite dresses ever. The picture of Rita laying down is the first picture of her I ever saw, someone thought I looked like her and they showed me that photo. That is actually almost a dead ringer for me. But that isn't the point I have always had my heart set on having this dress made in white for when I "grow up" and get married.

I think my favorite dress would have to be the black one the Rosemary Cloony wore in White Christmas. It is so simple and it is very elegant.

I've always had it bad for the green dress with plaid trim that Ann Miller wears in the Prehistoric Man number in On the Town. I couldn't find a photo of the dress, but here's a video clip from YouTube:

Also, in what movie does Ginger Rodgers wear that adorable dress with the arrows and hearts on it? It was a movie with Fred Astaire but I can't remember which one, nor can I find a picture of it.

I thought it was Carefree, but I googled and googled and could not find a picture of that dress so I thought I was wrong.

:) Thanks for the picture! I love that dress.

I have always loved this outfit of Garbo's for The Torrent. Makes me wish I could pull something like that off, but it is just a dream.

"Letty Lynton" 1932

... "Adrian and Joan Crawford a match made in fashion heaven "...

Edith Head once called "Letty Lynton" the greatest influence on fashion in film history .... and she should have known what she was talking about! ;)

a few faves!

Okay, so ALL of the Adrian costumes in The Women are fabulous...but the black gown Norma Shearer is wearing in this scene is so elegant...

I actually love this scanty costume Louise Brooks is wearing in Pandora's Box, too...

Fay%20Wray.jpg

Fay's gown in Kong is still amazing...
