Charles A. Ridley was an employee of the British Ministry of Information who cooked up this bit of parody after Herr Goebbels condemned and banned the popular "Lambeth Walk" dance. It was released to all of the newsreel companies, in both the UK and the US, and proved a very durable morale-raiser for the duration. You'll never watch "Triumph of the Will" with a straight face again.

I'm amazed this wasn't posted on the FL before now, to be honest. It's a very famous film-clip.

I remember the first time I watched it, I couldn't stop laughing. It's a wonderful bit of comedy.

It's a universal condition of the despotic... they HATE being laughed at. And you're right, I'll never watch Triumph of the Will the same way.
