I have the same dry sense of humor. :D Sadly, sometimes it doesn't quite come across properly in the printed word regardless of how carefully it's phrased, as GHT mentioned above.

I have the same trouble. A while back, people were on the usual rant that the young people are are not able to sacrifice, so I came back, sarcastically, "that's why it is WWII and Korean war veterans that are dying in Iraq." Some poor young man must have spent hours finding statistics to prove I was wrong, not realizing what I was saying, it was mostly the under 30 that were dying. There are more Sheldon Cooper's out there then you think!

One of my college students the other day submitted a paper in which she indicated that she didn't know the difference between the American Revolution and WWII. I'm not kidding. I long ago decided to stop making any kind of references to films, music, books, or anything else that appeared more than about, say, three months ago.

Eight words: Wearing a portable heart monitor for two weeks. :mmph:

Dang Alex...take care of yourself.

Even worse, having to carry nitroglycerine and starting to talk about your cardiologist.

You too, man.

The other day I was in the store grabbing a few things, and a couple of (grown) employees were stocking DVDs on the shelf. I overheard the lady ask the man "Who is this John Wayne guy?"

You have the distinction of being the youngest person in the waiting room to have cataract surgery. Then for skin cancer. Then it suddenly dawns on you that you may be the youngest among them, but you have now arrived at "a certain age"..

Man, you are OLD. :p Take care man!
My sincere thanks, but so far nobody thinks it's anything serious; most likely nothing more than premature ventricular contractions, which are quite common. For as long as I can remember I've had this intermittent arrhythmia that I can best describe as my heart skipping a beat or two, then beating rapidly for about 10-20 seconds as though it's trying to get caught up. Normally it happens once or maybe twice, then doesn't happen again for several months or sometimes more than a year. But for whatever reason, a couple of weeks ago it started doing it several times a day for 7-10 days in a row, so I thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to get it checked on the off chance it's something more serious because my wife claims she'd like to keep me around for at least a few more years. ;)

Wait till they tell you they can't fix what is broken!
I give it 50/50 odds that they'll even be able to figure out what's broken. :D But I give better odds on the likelihood that they'll tell me to stop smoking and eliminate caffeine from my diet...yeah, like that's gonna' happen. lol

Thinking about it and looking on the Bright side---free prescription Viagra. :p
Free? Free...free...I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that concept.
