I kind of agree with your sentiments, but I do like some of the State quarters, especially the California John Muir / Yosemite quarters.
This guy got his own quarter?

Remember when milk was just milk? I go to the store now and I have to search for milk through all its various incarnations now.
Once in a great while I'll find a Buffalo nickel with the date rubbed off, and I'll drop it in a glass of vinegar until the date reappears. Don't tell me I don't know how to party.
And this is another part of german humor:
Don't feel bad. I'm 1/4 German, and I don't get it either.I guess I don't understand German humor. In fact, I'm not sure I knew it existed.

Well, now that you mention it...
I don't understand it either, but I have an uncomfortable feeling that the destination blind on the bus, namely Buchenwald, might have something to do with it.I guess I don't understand German humor. In fact, I'm not sure I knew it existed.
Of course, it's one of the bus-lines in Weimar. Where else should it be?I don't understand it either, but I have an uncomfortable feeling that the destination blind on the bus, namely Buchenwald, might have something to do with it.
Not to name the busline "memorial" and so on , but rather just "Buchenwald".
Ah, Gedenkstaette Buchenwald.
I suppose that the local name Buchenwald was there before the camp. When I lived in Bavaria there were many Buchenwalds around as it just means a place with Beech trees.
Yep, it's a special one -- exactly the right thickness to use as a feeler gague when setting your valves every 3000 miles.
I think we're all flabbergasted at the finesse & subtlety of German humor.
I still don't get it.
