Yes 200 is a chunk of the jacket but it was also long weekend so good chance for me to visit my friend who I have not seen in a while. So it turned out to be a 2 for 1 kind of deal for me.

Yes the brownish one is the one I plan to keep as it fits better then the black one.

I went to the following shop, as they have a bunch of different high end leather jackets as well as other shops that you might want to visit. Not sure if it's the best place but had what I wanted. Now if you wanted something by freewheelers or real mccoys or one of the other brands that are Japan based you would have to search specially for them.

Yep, hanging out with a friend especially in Tokyo sounds like a great time.

Got it, that's a nice shade of brown too. Great pick up.

Thanks for sharing. I'll save that store and search for similar shops as well just to try out as many jackets that I can when I get another chance to visit Japan.

Thanks

Yes! That model #ER-45 in olive. From the chart I suspect a 44” but I bet I could get into a 42”.

Looks like the olive color is hard to find. Checked some of the regular sites and they all only carry the black one.

I would say that these jackets are slimmer fitting s(from the one I tried ) you want a more tight fit I would go for the size that seems to be the one you need, in your case a size 44. Considering this is a very pricey Jacket would be sad if you bought a jacket but it did not sit well.

Isn't this part of what we like about this jacket hobby? The gamble. Spending crazy money on a jacket that might not even fit. The 'high' it gives us when it actually does fit. The anticipation for the 'high' when you ordered a new jacket.

Guess I was fortunate, I measured and found what length I liked my sleeves and body from the get go when I started this leather jacket quest of top tier jackets in 2000. So every jacket I ordered new fit ( which was many ). Never cared to gamble. That's one reason I paid more money for a custom jacket. However for other reasons I moved many on until I found a maker with the leather and all over comfort and easy wear that I liked best. My high was being assured of good fit which allowed my main thrill being the leather finish and appearance when I opened the box.

No. I know my measurements and would only buy a jacket that was almost certain to fit. Unless the seller screws up - which has only happened once. I generally won't spend more than a few hundred dollars on a jacket anyway. My favorite leather jacket cost me $20 - it's a simple black calfskin utility jacket from a thrift shop. Hand made by a local guy. I prefer it to my one Aero which cost Aus$1500. I've done the custom jacket thing many times over 30 years and it's no more rewarding than the thrift shop finds.

Well if you are of average fit I guess so. However I thought we were about the same size. No thrift shop would fit my tall stature and long arms unless I happened to be very lucky and find an extra tall. I wear a 34-35 dress shirt sleeve and 26 1/4-1/2 in a leather jacket sleeve.

It's sometimes an issue for me, HD. All my jackets have 26 to 27 inch backs, with 26 inch sleeves. Sometimes a little more sometimes a little less. Like you I'm six two, 185 pounds and the only thing I struggle to find are pants - I have a 35 inside seam.

You lucky guys ;-)
The only thing that works for me off the shelf are jeans. 31x36 works fine with my 6'5" and 200 lbs. All my other clothes are made2measure or altered, because if they fits in length then they are a lot to wide on my waist.

You're a big fella. I have never stepped inside a gym or worked out in my life, so I don't have the disadvantage of muscles. :D

* lol * It would be nice if muscles were the problem. For me it is more the narrow hips and narrow shoulders. Also, don't go to the gym. ;)

Lol I have the other problem. Birthing hips but narrow shoulders and even though I workout I still don't have supper wide shoulders.

But on a side note I reached out to Y2 leather and they said they would do a one time only thing where they will lengthen my sleeves up to 3cm for an extra 65$. I'm like hell yeah going to go to a shop that local and has Y2 leather and see how much I want to add 1 or 2cm I'm thinking.

Beware that adding 1 cm might not do the trick if you want longer sleevelength. 1 cm is usually within the makers tolerances.

I know and that's why I'm going to be going to a shop and trying another one on and then taking measurements and sending it to them. That way it will be as close as I can get it to perfect as I can. Just have to wait for my other jackets to sell now lol

Now I'm a bit stuck in a hard decision. Original was going to go for the regular jacket which is about 1.3mm thick but after talking with phelan77 and him mentioning a Lua leather bespoke model which is lighter (1.0mm) I started to look more into it.

Looks like this model has a one piece back where as the regular one is made up of 2 parts.

And the one piece is really starting to grow on me but it is slightly lighter leather but I prefer sightly thicker one.

So I will be going to their shop this Saturday to try on actual jacket and see how it feels and if I am ok with lightly short sleeves. (Because I will be able to get longer sleeves directly from Y'2 leather for an extra 65$)

Just want to hear what people think about it

Personally, I'd go for the one piece back. Looks much more classic. The two piece looks like a fashion jacket to me.
