WWII Mine Detector

hey all...i ran across a an old WWII mine detector at a garage sale for $20 and couldn't pass it up...anybody know anything about these? i can't find a thing on the net...figured a couple folks on here might know...

well i found out it's a SCR-625-H which is the short arm version of the original to be used in the prone position...apparently made from 1945 and onward...
