WWII Children's books (fiction)

Hello, fairly new to the WWII Thread so apologies if this has been touched on already.

I really enjoyed as a child reading the Machine Gunners and Fathom Five by Robert Westall. Indeed they were possibly my favourite books and I recently acquired them again.

My question is - does anyone have a favourite book from when they were young about WWII - either set in or around the events of the 1940s?
