WW1 soldier's bedroom in France frozen in time for 100 years

Here is an interesting "time machine" story which came up a few months ago:

Hubert Rochereau was a young Dragoons officer who got killed like millions of his countrymen during the first world war.
His parents were so grief stricken they decided to make sure his room would be preserved, for 500 years!

As he said, there's nothing binding in French law to keep it untouched for 500 years but to be honest after the owner dies, if his daughters want to sell the house I believe the village should take the entire room and preserve it someplace . . . though some cleaning and restoration is clearly called for.
