Hi all,

I'm in the market for a cuff bracelet.

I'm open to a lot of different potential models and materials.

I found some great ones on ebay. Try seller VAFO. They sell cool old Navajo ingot cuffs. That said, Red Rabbit and Worn over Time sell great stuff too.

I like the style. I wear two silver (Navajo) cuffs almost daily. I just looked at a silver Navajo cuff today at a flea market (with six almost dime size turquoise stones) for $279. Just a tad small. Have you checked the auction sites?

"Navajo Cuff" would be a good start (although you might prefer the styles of other tribes/pueblos like Hopi, Zuni, etc.). Know your wrist circumference (just upstream from the hand/wrist joint or measure a piece that currently fits you well) and question the sellers. Many list diameter and that is not very helpful as your wrist is not round. You'll need the length of the cuff (as if laid flat) and the gap to compare to your wrist measurement. You can adjust some of the lighter pieces (although there is risk if there are stone settings, especially inlays), but the heavier pieces could be very hard to "spread".

Is there a big demand for these here? In a couple weeks I'll have access to a huge amount (thousands upon thousands) of these cuffs and other Native American pieces at wholesale prices. The wife and I pick up a few pieces every year; cuffs, rings, squash blossoms, etc.

The event I'm referencing is the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, billed as the largest, oldest and most prestigious gem and mineral show in the world. It's open for a few weeks in February and you could literally spend all day every day walking the aisles and not see half of it. They have everything from raw stones, fossils, vintage jewelry/watches, world jewelry from asia, middle east, africa etc., and a million other things. There's a whole pavilion just for turquoise and Native American jewelry, literally thousands of examples of everything you could imagine. I'm fairly certain it's the largest collection of Native American jewelry in the world under one roof. I'm not a dealer but thanks to a friend I have access to "wholesale buyer" credentials which allows access to areas not open to the public and special pricing.

Just to be clear, I'm NOT offering to walk out with a duffle bag full of turquoise to re-sell to FL members, but if anyone has any specific things they're looking for I can keep my eyes open for you.

Have you tried used jewelry shops? That kind of thing was big in the 70's. Turquoise, lappas ect so maybe you can find something of interest.
