They run a size small. Mine is size 44 and fits like a big 40.

42 chest being what? There are many versions of size 42 when measured as pit to pit, from 21.5 to 24 inches. And that's just the Aero jackets I've seen. My size 42 Gibson and Barnes is 25 inches pit to pit. That's a size 48 in a Brooks.
