WTB - For friend with Cancer, starts treatment tomorrow..6-7/8 Milan

Help me if you can....here is my story.... I get my friend into felt last year....vintage stuff..... and it took some arm twisting and a donation hat from me to get him started...so, he finally realized this vintage stuff is the cats meow.....anyway, we find out about a month ago he had a tumor in his lung the size of a baseball, this week he annonced it was cancer and has to under go treatment then surgery.

Today he shoots me a e-mail to ask me to find him a straw hat. He starts radiation tomorrow and Chemo in a few weeks if I read it right. He hardly has hair to begin with but says that small patch will be gone soon. I also know the lids build character; he feels good wearing that pristine Stetson I gave him, always saying how people in Philly are complimenting him on his fedora.....

I would like to get him something vintage pristine or darn near close to it; Stetson, Dobbs, a good name hat..... A milan weave preferable. He likes a stingy brim. He likes a pinched front and teardrop crown. I'm hoping to hear from a lounger on this request.....I looked at the Bay tonight but there isn't much on right now that peaked my interest. I'd sure like to send him a cheer package this week. If I get more than one response, I might be interested in more than one hat. He is a good friend, I know him 15 years, I'm not sweating a few bucks to make him feel good. Thanks for listening;)

That's a good cause as well as a good reason to buy a bunch of hats one sees along the way, whether or not one's own size. My 2 milans are way too big, but a smaller one will surface pronto. I'll scout a bit in some bideawee places . . .

This is a really tight 7...it's not Milan, but it is a quality hat. If you are interested, and think he will like it, my wife and I would love for him to have it. After all, we're just down the road from you. It's a Biltmore made for Marshall Fields in Chicago. Super hat.
