I just battled for a whole week with AOL to get here. They don't like their people to come here for some reason. Thanks to MK's help, I have made it.

Just wanna say hello. I found this place because I found a vintage felt fedora (in great shape, all by itself with a shaft of sunlight streaming in on it- very dramatic) at a thrift store and Googled "fedora". I've always been a fan of hero pulps, old aviation, and vintage architecture, and have forced too many people to watch "Sky Captain".

I'm so glad there's other people with my "retro-fetish" out there.

As far as the hat goes, I thought of the Raiders of the Lost Ark's golden idol.

As far as Sky Captain, isn't it sad there won't be a sequel, or at least more movies like it?

But, you make a movie that slaughters teenagers by the truckload, and there's a million sequels. Go figure.[huh]

Well,I thought that I'd jump in here,too,with my first post! I also battled intensely with AOL on the phone(whew)! Reminded me of battling a utility company(Are they ever wrong?). So after a replenishing sports drink,energy bar,and a few days of recovery,here I am! Actually I have been lurking for awhile reading many interesting posts. Seems the FL covers the whole gammit of subjects with very interesting perspectives. I finally arrived here thanks to Paddy's endorsement on another forum. My main interest has been vintage and WW2 HH jackets. Yep,I'm one of those...but please don't hold that against me! I am looking forward to getting to know the FL members,although,after reading many posts,I don't really feel like I'm among strangers.

No, as far as I know, there are no current plans to do a sequel or a spin-off of her character.

Alright, time to put Sky Captain on the Netflix que. My husband saw it when he was in Iraq (bootlegged I'm sure) and said it was wierd. He's got no real taste to speak of (except that he married me of course , but i still never put it in the que. I'll have to go add it....can't be any worse than some of the junk he puts on the list...

I hope my presence in the lounge doesn't get too annoying. You see, I mostly visit while at work, and I work 12 hour days. When it gets slow and boring, I need something to do, so I'm in and out all day. So I'll be lurking here a lot. This place is a great boredom-killer, and as stated elsewhere, "Boredom is a plague upon us."

By the way, at what point do I move out of the "New In Town" status?
