Would an Akubra Campdraft work in big city business?

Would a silverbelly Akubra Campdraft with a fedora bash match well with a navy blue suit, white shirt and polished black brogues in a downtown/large city environment? Thanks.

In Sydney I've seen a few upscale financial types walk into and out of their high rise office building wearing a suit and the same thoroughly trashed Akubra Cattleman they wear when not at work.

Reviving this thread because I have a related question.

I mostly wear dark grey or navy suits, or a cardigan with dark suit trousers to work, along with a navy or dark grey overcoat when it's cold. I really like the Campdraft and have no qualms with the thin ribbon.

Would silverbelly work with my predominantly dark grey and navy wardrobe? I'm aware that it's a very light colour but that doesn't bother me, as my usual hat is a relatively light blue-grey fedora. I'm more concerned about whether silverbelly is too warm or earthtone a colour to go with what I wear.

In my experience silver belly is a pretty universal color.

I am not a good source for advice as I am very particular about my colour matching. I say no as I see my SB CD as earth toned. I would wear it with anything brown, tan, beige but not blue and greys. If you did it would seem 'off' to me unless it was completely casual blue jeans and boots.

If I've learned anything from Glenn O'Brien it's this: If you have to ask, the answer is no.

@Bob Roberts advice from last year (above) still rings true: "Given the simple choice of wearing a Fed with a suit or a Campdraft with a suit, 9 outta 10 times I will chose the Fed."

I'm gonna be real nitpicky about this and say: yes, but not Akubra's silverbelly. Their particular dye formulation for the color is more yellow/tan hued than Stetson.

Vintage Resistols actually have my favorite "Silverbelly" coloration which has a very slight grey undertone.

SB might work with your navy wardrobe but definitely not with the dark gray. SB does have tannish undertones depending on the light, especially if it happens to be trimmed with a brown or gold ribbon & binding. I agree with Jared; it's very hard to find a hat now that matches what SB used to be.

Moonstone would be a better choice for both wardrobe colors but may be too similar to the blue-grey fedora you already have. Under low light conditions Moonstone is more blue; outdoors natural bright light brings out the gray more.

I agree with you, depending on how you crease it a Campdraft will be just fine for the purpose.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I may go with moonstone instead, even if it means that my hat wardrobe will become very monotinous. The reason I asked about silverbelly was to see if I could try something a bit different, but not at the expense of looking mismatched of course.

I don't see the Fed as being more appropriate with a suit than a Campdraft, I see it as a matter of personal preference. I want to try the Campdraft with a suit or smart casual business wear to try a slightly different look. It was only the colour and not the style that I was uncertain about.
