Hi! New member, here. I went to an antique shop the other day and picked up a Wormser fedora for $32, they said it was a 1900’s “pork pie” hat. It’s definitely not a pork pie style, so it makes me wonder what all else they got wrong about it lol. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

Can’t see the pic. I think ten posts gets you upload access. Simple stuff; say “nice hat” or something. Wormser made some nice hats, sold only though their own B & M stores, if I understand correctly. I have the one I enjoy very much. That’s it in my avatar.

Oh, well dang, sorry about that.

That’s a cool hat! It’s neat knowing some of the history, they seem to be pretty mysterious, not much of substance seems to come up on a quick google search.

Welcome to the Lounge!

Not many Wormsers go that far back. Check out the thread Bama posted to see if any match yours. Two hints: if it has plastic inside or if the sweatband is black, it is probably 50s or later.

Thanks! Huh, that’s really interesting... My sweatband is black leather, and the hat size is on a tag on the hat, hidden my the band. I’m scared to flip it down too much to inspect it all as it feels a little fragile and I don’t want to destroy it :-/ It says “To duplicate 20334” on said tag.

I did check out that thread, actually, and none look quite like mine, at least to my eye.

If you could send a photo that would help a lot. I have a hard time figuring the one on the post as well.
