yeeeees .... more more more ... button down collar its a nice feature its a kind of a "Flight-Windward". This jacket got face !!!:D
The position of the elasticeated side panels are different - the breast pockets are more "smiling" and are a bit larger.
Do you have any wear pics? Would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Windward

Oh forgot to ask: Where'e the removable collar?

That classic Windward model that Aero reproduces is pretty cool. I have a fleece lined one from the 50s with a breast zip pocket, large mouton collar and side pockets. Not as cool as the one pictured above or the Aero. You guys have the iconic model. I like those pockets a lot, and I think you'll realize the elastic isn't a big deal at all. It looks kind of odd on a jacket in the pictures, but they aren't bad in person. The old one I have, you hardly even notice them. The elastic is no longer taught but it seems to not even be a worry.

Guys, I Need help! My modified Windward arrived. It's perfectly crafted in all regards just like I asked for, except for one and that one gives me a headache, but before I do anything I would like to hear your opinions. The fit is great in the body and sleeve length is good, too, however...

I asked for extra length, 24.25" specifically, because that's what my Vanson Stadium has and I definitely did not want to go any shorter than the Vanson whose length already took me a while to get comfortable with. Now, the jacket arrived and it has a back length of roughly 23.65". While it covers the belt at the back only just, the accordingly short front does not cover the belt, it barely reachs it matter of factly. Here are two quick pictures, I apologize for the poor quality, there was noone close to help out and I had to improvise.
Front:

Back:

I am torn.. Holly has been a charm to work with, friendly and helpful and Julie created the jacket, so you can be sure it's perfectly crafted other than the length, and I feel like a total jackass after all the modifications they did for me, but I do not see myself wearing a jacket this short and the 0.8" difference to my desired length is pretty much what the jacket is lacking to fit just perfect.. Should I reach out to Aero and ask them to fix this?

edit: Since the backlength is kind of okay, maybe just replacing the front waistband-parts for other ones with a drop towards the center a la Dustbowl might be a economic way to fix this dilemma?

It looks fine (really good in fact). The last picture is the only one where I think it looks a bit too short. I think that's due to how you were positioned.

Oh man....
It's too short. This is my fear with my soon to be here vintage one.
Email Aero about it. Usually 1/2 inch is within tolerances, but yours is short IMHO.

I watch lots of old TV shows. It's amazing how many jackets there are in just The Twilight Zone alone. Shorter jackets (and yes, higher-rise pants) are pretty much the look. When I see a jacket that is reasonably short, it just reminds me of that look and I like it.
I've also had to compromise some being 6'-4", so maybe that's why.
I think it looks great myself. But YOU have to wear it.

My short jacket has actually also shrunk with time. If I were to order a new one from Aero, I personally would add .5 to my desired length being that they have a .5 fault tolerance. If it comes perfect to spec then .5 wont matter, and if it comes in under then its still good.

And since they have .5 tolerance, they might also understand why .8 makes it too short for you. I would contact and just say as it is....hi, its amazing, its too short..it came in underspec....i feel bad..what do we do?

Looks like it needs a full 2 inches more length. I think asking for .25 extra in a measurement for leather is crazy, Man. Go full inches, leather is an organic martial, not a scientific instrument that can be infinitely calibrated. I would expect any jacket to come accurate in measurements only up to a point, say half an inch.
