Misinformation-

Motives sometimes, I guess but ignorance(lack of knowledge and desire to attain it) usually. Marketing sees a lot of reverse engineering of historical fact- starting with the product being offered. Attaching a name, or a claim to a product that does not deserve it, nor reflect it, or have any tangible similarity- such as we have seen on this thread, which is quite blatant.

See also eBay item descriptions, ...ranging from optimistic, to blatant lies.

Never knew .. beginning to understand better...but still a little shocked that this such a problem. I guess where people are concerned anything goes.

I think I am going to invest in this CD that offers comprehensive photos of different flight jackets. I think it will be helpful for me to use as a visual reference. Photos help to distinguish subtle differences and the CD claims to cover repros as well as gens.

Here's a picture of the last halfbelt I had, a Sportclad. I had to sell it as it was was too small for me, I couldn't even zip it up all the way . It was from the same period (Pre-war). I have been looking for one like this in my size for the past 2 years, and now I finally found one and I personally think it looks much better than this one.

It arrived!

Just received the jacket this morning and all I can say is WOW! It sure is a beauty. Very thin goat and it looks like it was preserved very well. This jacket has had minimal wear and still has the sheen on the goat and the shine on the pocket zip. It fits me perfectly. I will get some pictures up here shortly but for now I'm off to work in my new halfbelt. Much more stylish that and A-2 I must say.;)
