That would go well with 40-oz jeans from Naked and Famous, but I don't know if they ever went into production.

Yes indeed. I wonder how it would feel wearing both. It really depends on how well you can move in them. The cod liver tanned jacket is currently my daily wearer, it is the jacket with the thickest hide I have, yet it is very comfortable and softening up quickly to boot. Then again it is elk and not bullhide.

That shop looks amazing. The jackets look long snd not my style, but I'd still love to visit it just because the shop looks so great.

Visiting Wildfang is a lot of fun, they have been collecting hides for decades and there are some really intesting creations to check out.

As for style, you would have to have them in hand to really make up your mind. You really need to wear their jackets and see how they look worn. The biker jacket is originally long, but they have another biker jacket that is designed to be shorter such as this one:

It is based on a classic german design called the "schnell jacke" or fast jaclket if memeory serves

And then you have this one I posted in the other thread

The brown jacket is cool. I’d go for smaller spots and maybe less of them but still interesting.

For those curious about the super heavy leather jacket that Wildfang is potentially making, here is a pic of a swatch of the hide

The hide is 4.5mm, you can see £1 coins for reference.

4.5mm translates to 12oz.
What animal does this hide come from? It’s wildly exceed my imagination…in a good way

What does it feel like in your hand? From the side view, it looks almost like hollowed sponge.

Do you plan to order a jacket with it? Or is this just a sample they send you to check out. Either way, they do have some crazily interesting stuffs.

It is bullhide I think. It feels moderately pliable, and super tough.

No plans from my side, it is a project that they are currently exploring.

Oh yes, they have a lot of interesting hides, decades of collecting!

I was definitely great meeting you guys @Monitor and @Marc mndt ! :D

And thanks for the write-up!

Wildfang was first mentioned a few years ago by Robbie79. He hasn't posted here in quite a while. A shame he has the knack of finding interesting lesser-known makers.

Their old website was only in German if I remember correctly and had different pictures posted. I was attracted it to them immediately as they had very different designs so I made sure to visit them when I finally could after the Covid lockdown, and I was not disappointed.

You only have to ask :)

Will post some pics soon
@Monitor @red devil I was not online for some time since the previous 7 months were not the best time of my life - my mother was in a really bad shape for a couple of months and finally passed away and I had a bad injury and was sick for some time....no time for hobbies like leather jackets or boots but everything is going to be better now.

First of all great write-up and I'm glad you and @Marc mndt finally were the first ones from our forum who visited them. My first contact with Mrs. Heike Oberlaender was back in 2015 (9 years ago) and she was really friendly and responsive and I was discussing with her about making a bullneck or Bavarian wild deer jacket for me (4-5mm thick leather). At that time I did not know much about leather jackets and makers and compared their price with Aero and SB which was a mistake. For some reason I've never visited them.....I should do at some point as they're just 1.5 hours away from my house and after seeing you nice pictures of their huge variety of jackets which is very impressive.
Cheers, Robbie

Glad to hear from you @Robbie79 !

My condolences and glad you recovered from this injury! I actually have another jacket in the works with Wildfang, so i will go pick it up at some point - I suspect early autumn. Shall we try to meet at their shop by then? :)
