Yeah, but where do I hide the boxes? My wife and I just had a conversation about the fact the boxes are multiplying at a rapid rate and I need to do some cleanup of the shipping junk that's accumulating. <sigh>

They need to make more colours

Hehehe. I hear you. I'll be very curious to see and feel the difference between the Imperial and Heritage felts. I look forward to seeing this after you've creased it.

Richard, many thanks! Now, there is one other small problem in that they don't seem to have the CD Deluxe which has the better felt. That said, for what I'd pay for a Whippet and a Strat SE, I could get a CD in bluegrass green and a CD Deluxe in a different color for less than what it would have cost for the original two choices.

Yup. Thats the idea... LOL!

When you get enough, you can just sort of shuffle them around and pretend they're not new, "Oh that one, I got that a couple months ago, remember?". Or stage them in my office. :D

I'm pretty sure she does that with art glass and jewelry...

2 Camp Drafts and 1 Fed Deluxe. The Fed is less stiff, softer and smoother. And yes, the sweat is better quality.

The only Akubra I have, a Fedora isn't of the Heritage series, but it's very soft and took a crease right away. I'll have to get a CD to see how they compare. I just have too many things in the que right now.

Why does that hat look so nice? LOL! I have no way to know as we have no akubra hats yet, but I think from the texture of that hat's felt, it sure must be a nice one. Note that high open crown, too! Thank you for sharing that hat picture....

I guess since it's my thread originally I can go :eek:fftopic: a bit. The sole Akubra I have at this point is this cool looking shallow crown model that was hand-creased to resemble one of Sinatra's fedoras. It is Imperial felt and is not as soft as some of my other hats and feels a touch "gritty". Of all the hats I have right now, the two with the nicest felt are a Knox Custom (sorry, no pics) and a Resistol Flatop. The Flatop's felt feels almost silky compared to any other hat I have and I love to hold it and caress it when it's not on my head because it has such a fine feel.

Frunobulax, thanks for the tip. I tried something similar with my bicycle collection and it didn't work, but it's worth trying again I suppose.

Wife: What was in that box on the front porch?

Me: You want me to say??

Wife: You're right. Forget I asked [mentally wiping the questions, concerns, and doubts from her mind].

Next week: Twenty Year Anniversary

That's the secret.

That's the secret.

Shortly after we moved into our new house, I won an auction a set of bicycle wheels that had Hardin Bacon Slicer hubs and Constrictor ASP rims. The day they arrived, I heard the delivery truck show up so I went out the the end of the driveway to retrieve the wheels and squirrel them away in the garage before she noticed. For some reason, she happened to come looking for me in that brief period of time and went out the back door to look for me, only to see me carrying the box to the garage. Can you say busted? :eeek:
