Whipcord - Calvary Twill

I recently found a box containing some of my fathers uniforms from WWII including a few pair of his calvary twill (whipcord?) trousers. Mass produced in the 40's for soldiers yet the material and workmanship is remarkable. Of course there is no way that I could fit into his trousers so I am determined to find comparably made trousers. I know Filson makes them but their colors are limited. Bill's Kahaki's carries them in multiple colors but I am not sure of the quality (although their refusal cotton twill is impressive). Thoughts and recommendations?

Thank you.

You can find trouser of this cloth at various pricepoints. How much are you looking to spend?

Good question. My first thought was "no more than I have to" but that's a little cheekie. I'd prefer not to have to pay $250.

I've been wanting to try some wool whipcord stuff. Who has the lowest pricepoint for trousers, of material that would still perform similarly to Filson's or Johnson's?
