Which Eastman A-2?

I've seen that.
I have had numerous A-2s, incl numerous ELCs. As stated above, my favourite has been the RW1401. Trim, athletic pattern, comfortable to wear. Classic.
Usually wear a 40L, recently bought one of these in a 42L and the darn thing is a bit too big for me. Ugh. Insanely lovely jacket. In the Classifieds somewhere... www.eastmanleather.com/classifieds.php
Apologies if that seems like a sales pitch ;) Its just such a nice jacket.
The 40L was trim, but was a good fit, should have stayed there.
Recently had an ELC M422a in a 42L, which fit ok, was a touch roomy also. Sold it to get my Headwind HL Block M422a, in a 40L, but it is also a a bit roomy on me. Double damn. Fits more like a 42L.
So, the ELC Monarch. I had a 40L, but as above with swimmers shoulders and narrow waist, it felt tight in the shoulders, wider in the waist. Weird fit for me... Love the profile, but couldn't get it to work for me. Tried on a 42 and 44 at the recent Airshows, and the 42 was better, the 44 too big, blousy.
HLB A-2 in a 40 was the best fitting ELC A-2 off the rack, but it has a wide waist... Normal for the pattern.
What to do.

Sounds like you and I wear roughly the same size in Eastman. That m422a (AVG tribute) is a solid fit for me though. Think that was yours if I’m not mistaken. Yea I think a monarch 44L might be too big for me. The search continues for the perfect a2. Haha
By the way, you’re lucky that you live close by Eastman and can try them on at airshows etc! Jealous!!

is this thread dead yet? because I have an ELC B-15 RW in a 48 and that fits me perfectly, and Im looking at getting a RW 27752 from HPA in a month or so, based of of their measurements on the RW52, the 48 should fit ok on me? Im basing the measurements on my B-15's measurements, accounting for the added thickness of the B-15s alpaca lining, I normally wear a 46 in jackets (XL) as I like a little bit of movement room and comfort, and I fit into the RW B-15 just fine in a 48R, so Im wondering how the RW27752 A-2 will fit?

your probably good with the ELC 48..I'm pretty sure HPA will take a return if its too big.. no other options if its too small

Yes, certainly we take returns. There are other ELC A-2 styles that are both larger and which fit differently, so we have some options to outfit another coat size larger, but fitting a chest measure larger than 49" is not something we can do effectively in any offerings under our tent.

LW, as long as your chest measure is about 46", the Eastman Rough Wear 27752 should be fine. Referring to the SIZING TIPS on our website, you need to maintain no less than 3"-4" of room in this style, thus a size 48 measures 50" in chest circumference and if your chest measures 46", you are there.

When you are ready, please feel free to run any questions by me. These are in stock now, by the way. Thank you.

Hi Charles, I wonder if I could get your opinion on my ELC RW, as well. I am dealing directly with Dave at Eastman, because I'm in Berlin. But I have bought some BR khakis from you and I know you are the recognized fit specialist in regards to these jackets. I ordered a 46 to try on -- I need to lengthen the sleeves at 6'4", but I wanted to see the body fit of a returnable jacket first. I think the shoulders lined up perfectly, though my movement was a little restricted. do you think i should size up to a 48 before I add the sleeve length? I don't want a baggy fit as there was already a lot of room in the gut on this 46.

Hello, Matt!

I sincerely appreciate your vote of confidence in my opinion. I really do not wish to insert myself in the sale from ELC to you, as I certainly would not appreciate them doing that to a sale for HPA and I believe they would feel the same way.

What I am willing to say is just go with what feels comfortable and looks good, so if you have no binding in the chest/armholes with the sort of clothing you will normally wear under the A-2, then that should be your size. Generally, in this style, if your chest measures 46" you should wear a size 48, but that is up to each individual.

Good luck!

[QUOTE = "Brettafett, post: 2167027, member: 26227"] Ciao Chris, benvenuto.
Grazie
