I miss seeing Joshes cigar commentray. Its almost time to be dressed summer and I thought it would be a good time for some good smokes. Any one got something tasty?????:cool2:
I smoked a "Por Larranaga" petit corona for the first time and I liked it so-so. It's got a sweet and mild flavour reminiscent of honey-caramel with a hint of walnuts. Perfect for those who like light cigars, but missing the strength usually associated with Cuban cigars.
I recently torched a 5 Vegas Gold churchill that was extremely nice. It starts out slighly peppery and mellows out into a nice creamy, slightly nutty flavor at the finish through to the end. This cigar also produces beautiful clouds of light gray/white smoke, perfect for a smoke ring or two if you are so inclined.
I smoked a Romeo y Jullietta bully a week before that - it was more medium flavored than the mild 5 Vegas Gold and had a sharp bite toward the end of the cigar. I wouldn't be surprised if that bite wasn't just in a single cigar as generally the Romeo y Juliettas I smoke have been fantastic.
Hey fellas, well I am have been a busy bee over the last few months. Oh my, working, relationships, all kinds of madness. I was really surprised to see this thread. It makes me feel really good that you all appreciate the thread. It really cheered me up in a time when I really need some major cheering up. I just want to say thanks to you all for reading and taking part in it all. Cheers!
Saturday night, for my good friend's birthday, I gave him a Trinidad Fundadore, and I enjoyed a Bolivar Coronas Junior. Earlier in the week, I had a Punch Punch which had a bit of age on it. Both were exemplary Habanos, stand out cigars.
The most recent "domestic" that I've really enjoyed is a cigar which debuted at the Retail Tobacco Dealers Association trade show in New Orleans, last August. It's the Rocky Patel Sungrwon, with a dark sungrown wrapper leaf. This thing is packed with flavor and a touch of strength. These are quite difficult to find, but they're worth the effort.
I also had JEM on Thursday night, this is made in Mexico by a family that emigrated from Cuba in the mid 1970's well after the mass exodus in 1959-1962. Their flagship cigar is called Ash, and they're really good. The JEM is a lesser light in their brands, but it was still a fairly good $2 cigar, as it's meant to be a bundle brand and an alternative to their much more expensively priced Ash.
