Where to Send My B-10 to Have Patches Sewn On?

Hello all, I received my Buzz Rickson B-10 from HPA. I am satisfied w/ the fit and quality etc. I have custom made leather patches I would like to have sewn to the chest and sleeve. After making a few calls most local tailors either did not want the job or did not seem confident that they had the correct machine or ability to do the job. Does anyone here have any experience with a individual or company that does this work?

If money's no object, I'd mail the jacket to Alexander Leathers in Scotland and ask Amanda to have Edith sew them on. Edith put the leather patches on my ANJ-3 (as well as making it) and her work is sublime IMO. She added the leather roundels to my original AAF patches on my B3 too. She's a perfectionist and amazing. That's the safest bet, I'd say.
But of course, that's if you don't mind paying some serious postage, but if you love your jacket and want the best ....

Alternatively, Option 2 would be that you could just send the patches to AL and ask that Edith run her machine around the border of the patches to create some neat stitch holes - that way, when you get the patches back, you can find a local tailor who can then sew on the patch by hand using the holes provided. I've done that with AL too.

But I've also found a local service that does dry cleaning/tailoring/alterations that's really professional and top notch - and I've used them many times and they've hand-sewn a leather patch for me too a la Option 2. I'm happy with them as well.

If AL isn't an option, I'd say just keep hunting and find a good tailor worthy of your jacket and patches. Good luck!

You might want to try to see if you area has any "tack" shops that work on saddles etc , they may be able to help and it would be local ............

Sounds like you're sorted. Otherwise, I'd have suggested finding out where your local MC clubs get their colours made up. Specialists in that sort of thing would know exactly what to do.
