Not too original

My username came to me one day while sipping moonshine on my back porch after a long, hard day of doing absolutely nothing.

Pistol= I am an avid pistol shooter and a bit of a smartass
Pete= My name
1969= The year I was born.

Not too complicated and easy to remember.

Pete

I've always loved the name Eva and Morsikova was my slavic grandmother's maiden name. I was thinking of actually changing my name to that because it really suits my personality with Eva being the fun-loving side and Morsikova has an exotic, mysterious sound to it. :)

Favorite novel by Hermann Hesse...and to anyone who knows, the reincarnation of the character, and nickname ever since from those who know/knew me.

^...and I just had my username changed to match the accounts I opened for Blogspot and YouTube. :) Just to avoid any confusion I thought I'd best say so.

And I'd better leave the avvy be for awhile. :)

I found the Lounge--Outerwear section--while doing research on vintage US Navy peacoats, and the dating thereof. I joined to answer a question posed by Matt Jones in a thread he had started back in August 2005.

The dating of vintage peacoats is one of my interests, so the name for use on this board was an obvious choice.

I'm a direct descendant of Dr. Roy Tam, he was an operative working with the Shadow back in the 1930's & great great great grandson of River Tam who was part of the crew on the Serenity....:whistling shhhhhhhh

I would have thought you'd have to be her ancestor, not the other way around! But that's okay.. I won't mess with you just in case no power in the 'verse can stop you either.:)

Always interested in history...particularly 19C and Irish. "Finian" is the one I usually use (a documented but unusual--even though etymologically more correct--variant of the more common "fenian", the mid-19C Irish and Irish-American revolutionary movement). But for this forum, something more period seemed to be in order. For the past decade I've been interested in the history of the shotgun game "Skeet" which was developed about 5 miles from where I live in Massachusetts. When Skeet was young, several early adopters were given the nickname "skeet"....with the assonance with my last name's initials, "Skeet McD" seemed like a good choice, easy to remember and documentable in period.

Over at Askandy I'm Anglophile23, but when I first tried to join here I used a hotmail account in my application. You can't do that, so when I submitted with a non-free account I changed it.
