If I had to pick only one song, with the one I had songs with it was
"Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5.

Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin
Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
You twist to fit the mold that I am in
But things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
That someday it would lead me back to you
That someday it would lead me back to you

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave

Years ago my wife and I first danced to Color My World by Chicago.
It ended up being our wedding song and we smile whenever we hear it, although we haven't heard it played in a while.
When my daughter Michelle was born I was leaving the hospital in the morning to do the cigar run and the first song I heard on the radio was Michelle My Belle by the Beatles. It's been a special song for me too for quite a while.

What about Stay the Night by Chicago? ;) :D

Regards,

J

Wow, there are a lot of songs that fit the bill...just a few though...

"I Miss You" Incubus (a song on the first CD he made me while we were dating)

"The Reason" Hoobastank (just a mushy song...get's me misty-eyed)

"Canon in D" - Pachelbel (song I walked down the aisle at our wedding)

And there are a handful of goofy ones that have meaning to us...mostly 80's songs and the like. We're kind of cheesy that way :)

The song 'The way you look tonight' by Tony Bennett was our wedding song, well should have been, the stupid DJ played 'something about the way you look tonight' Elton John, nothing against EJ, but it is soooooo not the same song.......:rage:

It is still our wedding song to us, found that song from the soundtrack of 'My Best Friends Wedding'. Sometimes you dont know when these things will present themselfs to you....

hmmm....a few special ones--we're both swing dancers (and old souls) so keep that in mind...

"Are You The One?"--Peter Cincotti
"Dance Me To The End of Love"--Madeleine Peyroux

among many, many others. You can't put two swing DJs together and have "just one" song :D

As I've told my wife, the song that makes me think MOST of her is Frank Sinatra's superb version of "Night and Day".

And I sure didn't lose any brownie points by telling her that.

Here are Cole Porter's lyrics to Night and Day.

A wonderful, passionate love song.

One of my favorite pieces -- good choice! If/when I get married, I think (If my female sidekick allows it) we'll use Pachelbel, Vivaldi and somehow work in some CCR!

You must have had the same DJ we did! Only half listen to what we wanted...

Great song because it's our song too AND we named our new baby Bennett, after Tony.

"I Only Have Eyes for You" by the Flamingos - was playing when we first said those "I Love You's". It was also our wedding song a year later. To this day, (18 years, 3 houses, and 4 kids later) if it comes on the radio, we will dance to it. Providing of course we are not driving in the car at the time:D
