What's wrong with Ebay?

Oh, another thing - auctions with reserves. I will watch those, but almost never bid on them. I hate someone that lists a $600 jacket and their reserve is $595. I've seen that waste of time too often. Usually it's someone who has an inflated idea of what something's worth - or they don't really want to sell it.
Reserve auctions annoy the **** outta me. Something is only worth what someone will pay - nothing more.
Oh, and sometimes the "OBO" crowd pulls the same stunt. $600 jacket, offer $550, and turned down? No thanks.
They should just do away with the whole "Reserve" thing. Everyone hates it.
I can't stand playing that silly guessing game of What's the Reserve? It's easy enough to just list something at an opening price that serves as the minimum acceptable price for a seller.

I guess everyone wants to snipe in at the last second of bidding, but I have a practice of pulling listings if they don't attract any bids by the third or fourth days, even if there are a number of watchers.
[huh] As a buyer I find that annoying too. I never bit before the last day. Why should I?

Reserves have a long history in auctions, drawing people in who otherwise might not bid if it starts higher. I have no objection to the concept, especially having found that so often I get a better price with a low starting bid yhan with ahigher one and no reserve. Unless you change human buying psychology, that won't change. I only mind that ebay won' t allow reserves below £50 now, that and sellers who put on a reserve of £200 with a 99p start, then get snippy when they only attract los bids.

I used to buy and sell on eBay - now I only buy, but I've had the same thing happen a few years ago with something I was selling. I wondered the same thing you did.

As a buyer - I tend to 'shop around' and see what I want/would like, add it to my watch list, and then when I am done with that - I do my comparisons in there. I typically don't bother with auctioned items, and if I do, I don't bid until there isn't much time left (I've also utilized the notorious practice of 'sniping' other people - not very gentlemanly to say the least, but if people are going to get cut-throat...I have no problem in returning the favor). That said - most of the stuff I buy is listed as 'buy it now'. That's how I shop on eBay - I like to browse for what I'd like in the 'buy it now' category, save in my watch list, and if I have the money - buy it then and there...and if not...just let it in my watch list until I plan to get it. There are certain things that remain in my watch list - things like essential oils (as the sellers keep a stock) and it just makes it easier to leave them listed in my watch list, than to search for them each and every time.

Hello

I am concerned with the question of what is going on with Ebay or better Feebay (view as a seller)?

Recently I added a nice Aero Leather Leather Jacket on eBay (see section classifieds). Jacket starts with a modest starting price of £ 200 compared to the rrp of £ 630th

Auction has been viewed a total of 994 person, 65 as watchers.

Note: Nothing about my recently auction, I was willing to sell and I sold my item… but what I would like to know:

I do not really understand: Finally, the jacket sold for 57% of rrp... with only 11 bids.

Why is it that so many people are looking/watching at the auction and then, finally no one is willing to do a bid?

Is it an ebay appearance or a market situation in general (glut on the market)?

Any ideas?
