What's the word on the upcoming '08 Stetsons?

I noticed the upcoming new Stetsons in the Aaron Hats Blog. Any word on the quality compared to recent Stetsons; if they're better or more of the same? I searched but the topic doesn't seem to have been touched yet.

I'm impressed they're offering something with what looks to be a 2-inch ribbon. Maybe they're listening to us after all!

I like it very much and will buy it. I will try asking if Aaron can get one made with a 2 5/8 brim instead of 2 1/2 at the factory. I would be glad to pay extra. Everything else looks great!

The original Nostalgia had a 2 3/4" brim. It was a great seller. we had them in three colors. I just hope that the quality will be right for this type of hat. If it's too rigid, you wont be able to crease it up.
I wonder if most loungers would prefer a larger brim , or prefer the 2 1/2" brim .

The Nostalgia... huh.

Not bad lookin'. Good gray, and I like the wide ribbon. Should I conclude from the photos that this hat is available open crown?
The crown has nice, straight sides by the look of it, anyone have an idea how high the crown is?

Anyone own one so we could see some pics, maybe get an idea what to expect?

Spatterdash, the Nostalgia comes open crown. You are correct. It looks to have a nice price too. Exciting to see an open crown hat on the market from a large company.

I'm also wondering about the Baldwin and Pelham. They're 2x the price of the Nostalgia and claim to be 100% beaver. I know I'll be looking to try a Baldwin when they come out, if it's not too stiff to be re-bashed.

As the Nostalgia is a Stetson, any chance it will be available at the Hatco outlet in Garland, TX?

It would be nice to see the height of the crown and felt quality in person, since Stetson is very much a hit-and-miss-crap-I-keep-missing supplier.

There's always a chance. But remember, to make it to the outlet, a hat must be either a "slight irregular" or a "production over-run."

I for one would prefer a wider brim.
