is there an official/commonly accepted name for these things? My guess was a key wallet, but I don't think that is it. Key loop something?

Keychain? No, not quite. I have two of those Remote/Fob things--one for my wife's SUV and one for my truck--connected by a couple of those key rings that are roughly the size of an American 25¢ piece. On those I have the key for my truck, the key for her SUV, key for the front door of the house, the key for a storage shed adjacent to the carports, and...um...I think that's about it. Pain in the backside, keys.

As Yogi might have had it, I hesitate to make predictions, especially about the future.

Still, it’s not hard to envision a day when keys as we‘ve known them will be mostly obsolete, especially those keys we now use regularly, such as the ones for our personal modes of transport and our residences and workplaces.
