We watched "Arsenic and Old Lace" the other night, and one brief scene had a whole new connotation for me, after the piles and racks and shelves and cupboards full of hats I've seen posted here.......

........ maybe we should check to see what is in some of our members' basements.

The hat cupboard sort of reminds me of the (very) old Burns And Allen TV show wherein the addled Gracie would so befuddle male guests that they would leave their hats behind. She would then open her coat closet, place a number tag under the fedora hat band and set it on a shelf next to all of the others. Husband George, of course, was wryly commenting on the action as he sat watching it transpire on a closed circuit TV he had in another part of the house.
