Tonight is beef patties (I made them up as hamburgers before I froze them, but we aren't eating them as hamburgers and I hesitate to call them hamburger steak as I make those differently! lol!) with gravy, home fries, green beans, and cucumber and tomato salad.

Hamburgers, steaks, or meatloaf are always great. Mashed potatoes, gravy, corn.
Tonite, deli roast beef and potato salad.

Six hour yesterday tending to pork and beef ribs smoking with hickory and mesquite. With them had baked beans Southern style slaw made with Savoy cabbage and grilled corn.

Tonight will be the same with new potatoes smashed and fried okra.

Edit: Mass quantities of PBR and water were consumed yesterday and probably today as well. This heat sucks.

Steak salad with bacon and blue cheese dressing.
When the weather is as hot as it is at present, salad makes for a much lighter meal. I love it.
This evening we are dining al fresco. Did you know that in Italian, al fresco is a sort of euphemism for time spent in jail? No prisoners here though. Chicken salad and a mustard dressing, with scrubbed Jersey Royal baby potatoes, cooked in their skins, washed down with a glass or three of Sauvignon Blanc, that's the real stuff, from Bordeaux. That's followed by another salad, fresh fruit with a generous dollop of ice cream.

Salmon patties sound good, Dale! Think I'll make them next week!

Yesterday we went to a friends house. She made stuffed shells.

Tonight I made marinated, grilled chicken, grilled corn on the cob, rice, and cucumber salad

Stopped at Calabria Deli last nite for Boar's Head oven gold turkey, not exactly a home cooked meal but close enough.

Spaghetti Carbonara, made with egg, hard cheese, guanciale, and black pepper. Add a few spoonfulls of single cream and a generous splash of dry white wine. If you can't get guanciale then pancetta will make an excellent substitute, served with a chilled glass of Prosecco.
