Would you believe I went to the grocery yesterday and forgot about the chili :eusa_doh: I'm writing the ingredients down for the next trip right now!

I'm having a couple bowls for lunch today. Wife always makes a bunch. Knows I like it warmed over. Always enough for several servings. Good stuff..!! ;)

Where'd your post go HD :p

I finally settled on seared Ahi, baked rice (yes I eat a lot of rice. My mother even made a comment ), and a salad with figs, goat cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette.

And here's the apple pie:

recipe here for Best Ever Apple Pie including crust (and yes it truly is the best ever).

Last night I cut up 4 links of chorizos and fried them lightly in olive oil and poured it over some whole wheat pasta served with a garlic marinara sauce topped with crushed garlic and olive oil. I gouged on a whole lot of cashew today so I don't know if I'll have an appetite for dinner tonight.

Tonight we're grilling again - bacon-wrapped filets, stuffed crab, and probably whole grain pasta with butter & garlic on the side.

Last night we ordered out - pizza & wings.

I made the mistake of NOT picking up a bite before my play rehearsal this evening, so as a result I was famished when we got done at 8:45. Since I was on the upper west side of Manhattan, I figured there's gotta be a decent place around here somewhere. I wound up in a very small but rather sheeshee (in a nice way) French restaurant called Alouette, around 97th St. I had a salad with baked pear, brie, toasted (or something like that) beet and mesclun. The dressing was kind of lifeless, so it was a bit disappointing. The main course was duck, with duck sausage, carrots that were a lot like sweet potatoes and little croquettes. Divoon. Simply divoon. With a nice glass of Bourdeaux.
Dessert was, of course, creme brulee. Maybe I've been hitting the creme brulee a little too heavily lately, but it was also a little bit uninspiring. Washed that down with a double espresso.
I don't wanna say how much I spent. I'm glad I did it, cause my tummy is VERY happy right now. But I'm not so sure I'll go there again.

An unpleasant price can spoil a delicious meal, but a delicious meal can mend an unpleasant price.
Your description makes me look down my nose at the trail mix I'm munching....

While not exactly cheap eats, Alouette would be considered by most New Yorkers (OK, Manhattanites ) a reasonably priced restaurant.

You're going to turn into a club sandwich :p

 I was just going to say the exact same thing! And am I allowed to say that your user title finally expresses what everybody already knew? You are incurably addicted (just joking, beloved big sister! Please don't be mad at me!) :D

Made Meatballs, Mac 'n Cheese, and Cowboy Beans, which is various types of beans, bacon, hamburger, and onion. It's very good. I had my birthday party today, so I had a bunch of different goodies (besides the beer) for everyone who came.
